 Assalamualaikum wr.wb

This time I will tell the history of the colloseum building.

The Colosseum is a historical heritage in the form of a gladiatorial arena, built by Vespasian. A large elliptical theater called the amphitheater or by its original name the Flavian Amphitheater, which was one of the Sixty-Nine Wonders of the Middle World. The site is located in the small Italian town of Rome, founded by the mayor of Vespasian during Domitian's time and completed by his son Titus, and is one of the greatest works of Roman Empire architecture ever built. The Colosseum was designed to accommodate an audience of fifty thousand people.

Naming History

The name of the Colosseum as above is taken from the name of a one hundred and thirty feet or forty meter statue, Colossus. The Colossus statue was recreated in place of Nero as a parable of the sun god Sol, adding a sun crown. In the middle of the year, the colossus statue has disappeared. One expert said that since the statue was made of copper, it has been melted down for reuse.

Apart from being taken from the name Colosseum, the Colosseum is also known as the Flavian Amphitheater, it is not known who gave that name. In Italy, the Colosseum is named il colosseo but other Roman languages use the names le colisée and el coliseo to denote the Colosseum.

Description

The Colosseum is a masterpiece of great work. It is said to be a great and spectacular stadium because of the shape and structure of the Colosseum. Even today, the Colosseum is said to be a great and spectacular stadium. The seats in the Colosseum were divided into different levels based on social status in Roman society.

The main podium located in the north and south for the Emperor and his family, at this place provided the best view of the arena, there was a resting place, treasure storage was also on this level. Then at the same level with a wider platform was a special podium for Roman senators, who could bring their own seats. The names of some of the senators can still be seen from the carvings on the rock on which they sit.

At the next level it was called the maenianum primum, which was devoted to the Roma aristocrats. Furthermore, at the third level is the maenianum secundum which is further divided into three parts. The lower part (immum) is used for the rich, the upper part (summum) is used for the common people. And finally, in the wood (maenianum secundum in legneis) is a place whose structure is made of wood at the very top of the building. It was a standing place only for lowly women.
